Fall Raffle and Clothing Drive Results
We made $821.91 on the raffle, selling 584 tickets! Congratulations to
our winners:
- 1st Prize of the Propane Patio Heater – Melinda Forella
- 2nd Prize of the Fire Pit and accessories – Connie Richards
- 3rd Prize of the weather station and lanterns – Joan Tharau
For the Clothing and Toy Drive, we collected 4,485 lbs which earned us $762.45!
Both totals were higher than last year’s efforts so thank you for your contributions and spreading the word with neighbors, family and friends! Special thanks to George Fetzer and Charlie Bunn for selling over 100 raffle tickets EACH!
Year-To-Date Fundraising Total
We don’t have our October Can & Bottle Drive total yet, nor final results for the Malerbo Fall season. I will make some “educated predictions” for those giving us an estimated $10,500 raised year to date on all our fundraisers.
There are no more major fundraisers planned for the rest of the year (next up is January 7th Can & Bottle Drive with January 14th Snow/Rain Date), so thank you to everyone who helped out all year long with helping run and support them!
BUT even though there are no major fundraisers left, we can make a good end of year push in our fundraising by having more participation in our Scrips Gift Card program!
Ho, Ho, Ho…it’s Santa Scrips!
Use Scrips gift cards for your Holiday Shopping! Do you know there are over 700 retailers in the program? I bet you shop or dine at some of these or will give their gift cards as gifts for the holidays. There is even some major airlines if you plan to travel for the holidays.
Please consider using Scrips for your holiday purchases – at least some portion of them – as the rebates the Church gets can really make a dent in our budget deficit.
Think about this…if you spend, say $500, with an average 8% rebate, that nets $40 for the Church!
All you need to do is think about where you may shop/what gifts you want to give and how much you may spend. I have cards in stock from some of the more popular stores, but only a few from each. If you want a certain retailer and dollar amount, please let me know by giving me a list of retailers and dollar amounts and I will order them for you (it would be appreciated if you can provide a check for your total order made out to ‘CCB’ when you give me your list).
For the holiday season, there are some special small denomination cards ($5, $10) to give as gifts for teachers, co-workers or coaches, Some examples are $5 Starbucks, Panera Bread and Barnes & Noble as well as $10 AMC Theater (the one in Plainville), Amazon, Target, Applebee’s, IHOP, Olive Garden/Longhorn and Outback restaurants.
