Dear Members,
Music is obviously an important aspect of our church. We have been fortunate to have Chris Dabbo as our Music Director & Organist for the past four years. We feel all can agree that Chris’s professionalism, and talents, have been an integral part to our musical programming supporting the increase in our senior choir membership.
It is with mixed feelings that we announce Chris Dabbo is leaving our church at the end of the year. We are obviously sad to see Chris go. However we are happy as Chris expands his career while doing what is best to prioritize time with his family. Chris’s last day at the organ will be Christmas morning. The choir’s last performance under Chris’s direction will be the 11 O’clock Christmas Eve Candlelight service.
The Music Committee has been actively searching for candidates to fill the Music Director & Organist position. Our budget limitations pose a challenge in finding qualified candidates. However we are working on creative solutions and still hope to fill the position ASAP prior to January 1st 2017. The goal is the choir remains in the choir loft and our organ continues as an intricate part of our worship services.
We will make an announcement once we have a new Music Director & Organist and/or alternate solution. We pray the Holy Spirit has a plan for us to carry on what has been an awakening of a revelation of musical Spiritual Growth. In the meantime, please join us in wishing Chris all THE BEST OF LUCK in his future endeavors.
Kind regards,
Lila Cahill, Music Committee Chair
Daniel Binkley, Business Committee Chair
