Every year, when it hits spring, one of my joys is playing “Morning has Broken” in some form or another in the Sunday service to commemorate the turn of events.
This is probably the very first hymn I sang in my British Kindergarten’s chapel, at age 5.
And while it has a certain touch of nostalgia, the song has passed the test of time to hold up as not just a childhood song, but a celebration – and captures so well the glimpse of God we get from Creation. Perhaps especially as it turns into spring.
With the change of the weather away from snow (hopefully for good!) and the emergence of the blossoms on the trees, I hope you catch a glimpse of the Divine on your walks and glances out the window…and feel His joy.
